Love and Pineapples

Hi, this is Benjamin.  At dinner last night I had a sudden, strong impulse to write a post for us.  I wanted to tell you about our Saturday afternoon.  I had to teach until 1:00, but as soon as I was done, I walked across the blue bridge from Mar'ino to Brateevo.  It was a bit chilly, the wind was blowing down the river and my ears got cold, so when I arrived Katie told me she wished I had worn a hat, and of course I should have.

We decided to go to my house for brunch, so we brought a pumpkin and went and caught the bus.  We got supplies at the store along with some great orange berries.

I made breakfast burritos and Katie made pizza, and then we sat and watched "Midnight in Paris" together.  It was so great to relax and cuddle up together.

After that we went to Katie's and had dinner with her parents, and pineapple!  Katie was so excited about it and I love when she's excited!  She cut it all up, it smelled and tasted so good.

We talked for a little while after dinner, then hugged and kissed and said good night.  It was a great day!

oh, october weekends

It's the last weekend of October! We finished our country house season last week. It was sunny but chilly, we did some final gardening, cleaning up and taking autumn pictures. This is our city weekend with pumpkins, decorating, cooking and eating of course!

sweet squares

Hi, this is Katie! Here are some of the recently developed film, it's from our lovely disderi four-lens camera. It's harder to finish a new roll now because it's mostly gray and cloudy outside and during the week my working hours don't let me be out before it's too dark. That's why it's way cooler to look through these sunny summery shots. Have a great day, everyone!

More Kitty!!!

Wanted to share a couple more cute pictures of the kitty and to say we responded to A Piece of Lisa's call for November sponsors and we really hope we get chosen!

Rainy day walk

Hi, this is Benjamin! I wanted to share photos from our walk yesterday. Even though it was a little rainy, it was wonderful. We looked at yummy pictures of food in a magazine, chased birds and saw a little kitten that I almost convinced myself to take home. It's good that I didn't, though, for my apartment's sake. We fed him, anyway, and maybe we'll stop by later to say hi. We think somebody will probably adopt him because he lives near a vet clinic and he's so cute.

Speaking of cute, here is my dear kicking leaves :-)

Here's the kitty!

a boxset of joy

My father went grocery shopping and saw this box of vintage Coca-Cola bottles (produced for the brand's 125 years anniversary!). He thought Ben might enjoy something American like that when he is so far away from home.. and papa was so right! Look at this happy face:

lately

Our life lately has been pretty busy. The past week I spent away from home on a business trip and that made me appreciate being at home with the loved ones even more tonight. I decided I want to pay more attention to the little moments we have. Everything you see captured here makes me smile for the memories it brings.

Just a little while ago we saw these awesome figs in a store and I knew we had to bring them home! Benjamin ate one raw for the first time. The rest I used for my home-made jam... mmmmm.. that was so good: after a walk outside on an autumn evening to drink hot tea with a home-made jam.. Talking about the walks: now when the days are shorter we mostly meet after sunset and it's always pretty dark. I don't believe i say it but i'm really looking forward to the snowy days - then everything will be white and shiny :-)

Oh, and some more autumn treats so far: Benjamin brought a caramel apples kit from the States, and this time i was the one who had never tried this food before! How exciting! We made them for an international inventor's day which is my father's professional holiday and gifted him one along with my home-made chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies and a drawn by Ben postcard. I'm typing this and smiling.. good moments.
Wishing you all many-many nice and warm little moments this weekend!

caramel rain

This is from when Ben still had his awesome beard. We went out and walked along Arbat street, saw a fairytale lady that was dressed all in gold; and when it started raining we hid in Dunkin Donuts! We don't have pictures of the other desserts because they dissapeared faster than we realized we wanted to take a picture :-)
