food carving: a big watermelon welcome

watermelon food carving

This week I decided to carve something big, really big. It wasn't easy. It was heavy to hold. And I wasn't sure how exactly to work with this one but it turned out OK. We kept it on the dinner table yesterday as a centerpiece and ate it today. :-) Here are some of the work-in-progress photos:

  1. That's really cute! Must have been hard work indeed.
Which reminds me... I have some watermelon in the fridge. Not for long... ;)

  2. This looks great! what tool did you use to carve it out? There is such a great pattern to it.

  3. thanks!
Liv, I responded on your blog. Any thin knife should work. I use a Thai carving knife.
