Christmas tree in Sandpoint

I didn't post this earlier, but last week there was a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Sandpoint. We had a great day full of shopping, hiking and playing board games.. and only at 7pm we realized that we missed the ceremony! We ran downtown, it was heavily raining and the square was empty. So magical! The lights looked even better with all the puddles around them and we felt like we're the only people to see this little miracle. Yes, we got pretty wet but it was so worth it! It's going to be my first Christmas in the US, and I'll remember the first Christmas tree on such a special day.

  1. So gorgeous. I love the idea of being the only one around in a setting like that.

The other night I walked to a friends house a few blocks away and there wasn't a car on the road or a person walking. I was all alone in the silence and darkness of the early evening, with a few houses already lit up for Christmas. It was a gorgeous moment, as I trudged through the fresh snow and breathed the fresh winter air.

I hope your first US Christmas is everything you dreamed of. xx
