The highlight of May was the wedding of two of our wonderful friends and the celebration at Amicalola falls State Park that brought together so many of our favorite people! We all rented a cabin in the woods of the park and finally spent some quality time catching up on our news, ideas and events. I wish this kind of meetings were mandatory at least once every season!

Not to forget about the wedding - it was gorgeous and just a pure celebration of happiness: I loved the location, the bride was so elegant and pretty, the groom was the friendliest and the most joyful person as always -- overall, time very well spent. The most exciting thing is... two more of our friends are getting married in August and we're all going to Salt Lake City for more fun, hugs and chats! I can't wait!

May picnic at the city beach

We celebrated the beginning of May with an after-work beach picnic (and a sunny photoshoot)! Sandpoint City Beach is a wonderful place in warm weather: there is a green park with tall trees, a kids playground, and of course, white sand and a blue lake with mountains as a backdrop. We made a quick stop at the shop to grab a baguette and lemonade, and in just a few minutes we were all settled, entertaining people in the park with our photo posing.

I had such a great time. To be honest, this past week was pretty stressful and I even caught flu, but spending time outside in the sunlight definitely helped me feel better. I think we should have mandatory weekly picnics!

There is a beautiful cherry tree on our street, we've been watching it turning pink for a few weeks now. The other day while taking photos we met the lady who owns this pretty tree. It might be strange, but I was very glad to know that this perfect cherry belongs to such a nice old lady... They even look alike.

She told us to come again when the tree would be in full bloom, and it's very important not to be late: every year it blooms so nicely, but then one night a very strong wind blows and the next day all of the petals are on the ground, turning it pink.

We came again today and took these photos, and right now, while I'm typing, I can hear the wind banging on the roofs and shaking the trees outside. Tomorrow there will be a petal carpet in front of the old lady's house.

Yesterday when the microwave was finally installed we headed out to a sunny pier to have lunch! We brought our homemade kimbaps and set on a bench for a little bit enjoying them. We didn't spend too much time there because it was sooo cold, we went to Starbucks and got hot drinks and talked. In the evening we had dinner with Ben's parents and looked at the stars through a telescope. It was amazing.

It was a gorgeous Sunday: snowy and sunny. We went downtown, grabbed holiday drinks at Starbucks and walked to the pier. It's my favorite part of town: the lake and the mountains views, cute houses, beautifully shaped trees... I wish we lived there! We spent a few minutes on a bench watching the birds on the lake and sipping our coffee and then we took off to have a family movie night! We went to see The Hobbit and it was fun, we haven't been to the movies since we moved here. The movie was good but we all felt like there were just too many fight scenes and action in general.  I can't believe there're going to be three parts! Such a long time to wait till the next one...

It's Monday, I'm in love

This weekend we were making Christmas and New Years postcards! I absolutely love this time of the year when you make surprises and send out greetings! I especially adored one of the cards that Ben drew.. and he signed it for me! Ahh it's very exciting to keep it :-) Feels like New Years already!

Lovely-lovely day! I visited Intercontinental hotel in Moscow downtown today, met some really nice people and had a wonderful cappuccino! This week is super busy which makes me truly appreciate little breaks like this. On this happy note i want to share some more love with you with another sticker from my Love is collection. We had an amazing morning together. Bunbun cooked us breakfast, we had doughnuts for a dessert and watched the Apprentice on youtube. Now B is at work and i am getting ready for the Thanksgiving dinner at the friend's new house. I am so excited!

Love is...

Do you know why i have such a happy face on this picture? "Love is..." is back!!  The best bubble gum of my childhood is being produced again! (... and i have a package of 100!! oh my, I would have never believed it15 years ago!) It was super popular in Russia and Ukraine in 1990-s! There are 6 flavors: Banana and Strawberry, Pineapple and Orange, Cherry and Lemon, Peppermint and Menthol, Apple and Lemon, Coconut and Pineapple.

The comics were created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali (née Grove) in the late 1960s. The cartoons originated from a series of love notes that Casali drew for her future husband, Roberto Casali. How adorable is that? awww...
