Lomography Monday: cross processed film

We found a roll of film in Ben's parent's house. No one knew where it came from and how long it was there. We brought it to a photo lab and developed it. It was slide film so we decided to cross process it. These are the photos we got. They are from about 7 years ago when Ben was in high school! I love finding old photographs! Thanks to cross processing the colors are fantastic!

Cross processing (also known as 'x-pro') is the procedure of processing one type of film in chemicals intended for another type of film. When you cross process color slide film you'll probably see high contrast and unpredictable color balance. Magic! We might try getting more film and playing with this technique, maybe even get our own chemicals - who knows :-) We love film and have lots of fun working with it. We'll keep you posted on our results of course.

Other unrelated news: this weekend was fantastic! Great weather, garage sales, movie nights, cooking and baking - I can't wait to share more with you! Stay in touch!

how good is that, excellent results and even better for the fact you didn't know what was going to come out

These look fantastic! So wonderful. I love the look of cross processing and would love to learn how to do it myself. In fact, I'd love to go back and take all kinds of classes--photography included. I think it is awesome that you found the old film in the first place; it's always romantic, waiting for the final results!

Oh wow!!! That river pic is gorgeous!!! I liked the lesson on cross-processing, too! I never really knew what it meant. I only knew how to apply the action in PSE. :o) I love how it turned out on these!
