Lomography Monday: Juice Box Camera pt.1

Oh, Juice Box Camera, how hard it was to get you! I was looking for this camera for a while and when we moved to the US this summer, I finally ordered one. The first search result brought me to Four Corner store. They had a good selection of the juice box cameras and the price was OK. It was really hard to decide which box to choose, but I finally ordered one with an elephant on it. One month passed by, but my camera didn't arrive. I emailed the store and asked them if they had shipped my order. They wrote me back saying that it was on back-order. I was surprised that they didn't tell me anything about it and just waited for me to write them and ask.

Another month went by, but I didn't hear from the store at all and there was no camera in my mail box. I wrote them every two weeks but they never responded. At the end of September they finally wrote me back saying that the design I chose was discontinued. I asked which other designs they had but again no answer was received. At the end of October I asked them for a refund and they cancelled my order.  It was already beyond the refund time frame, so I had to wait for awhile until they finally figured out there was a problem and sent me my money. After that, Elle McDowell from Four Corner offered to send me another Juice Box for free! Well, after all my trouble, it was really nice of her...

What a long story! It actually did feel like forever, and I regretted many-many times ordering this camera from this particular store. I can always understand technical issues or any supply problems and I'm willing to work it out. But I really don't like when a business ignores me, doesn't give me any information and makes me wait and demand what I already paid for. Enough about the negatives though, let's talk some positive stuff.

I love this little camera! It's light, plastic, colorful and fun to use! It needs no batteries and has no adjustable settings. The straw works as the shutter, and it shoots photos through the 28mm wide angle lens. I was hoping to get some light leaks and yessss it produces quite a few! The colors are vivid and it works best on a sunny day. I'll be posting more photos next Monday from the same roll as this time. I'm going to wait till spring for more sunshine before I load it and take out for the adventures.

LOVVEEEE the results!!!
i've shopped at Four Corner but it was mostly for the films (pretty decent deal). That sucks that the communications was poor. but at least you got a free camera :)

Ah, don't get me started on that site. It's such a cool site, but their emailing services aren't that great. And I'll never buy anything from them again, but anyways... don't you love the juice box camera? It's one of my first toy cameras I got, and I got hooked. The pictures turn out so great in the summer time especially.

I'm a big copy cat and have bought one from eBay! Not that I don't have too many cameras already.... I just couldn't resist!
