It's a big day at ChestnutMocha! The first big anniversary - we have 101 blogger friends! We started ChestnutMocha a year ago when after endless 12 months of long distance relationship we finally were together. Ben got a job in Moscow and moved there to be with me! We decided we didn't want to loose any more days and moments and we should document our happy times together. This is how our blog was born. We both love traveling, cooking, exploring everything around and taking pictures: both digital and film! For the last year we've been posting our little adventures and snapshots here. We didn't know a year ago that ChestnutMocha could give us something more.. It gave us you! We found so many wonderful people, blogs and stories through our blog! It's especially important now when we moved to the US and I left my family and friends in Russia. It's so wonderful to be a part of a community with the similar interests, to have friends everywhere - it helps me everyday not to feel lonely and isolated. THANK YOU, our dear blog friends and readers! We're so happy to have you over here!
To celebrate our followers and to say "thank you!" we prepared a GIVEAWAY! You can win a surprise painting by Mr. Ben! My talented husband has his art in coffee shops, cafes and other business around our town as well as online. You probably saw some posts on the blog with Ben's paintings and drawings, too. Today we're giving away a watercolor 5.5"x8" to decorate your own space! Ben is going to paint something special and random when a winner is announced.
It's very simple - you must be a follower of our blog to participate. Open to international entries. Just fill out the form below. A winner will be randomly drawn and announced on September 1st!

Wow these are fantastic! Such talent! Very "Starry Night" I would say. The question asked me what I would like to see more of. hmmmm..... I think maybe some deep orangey hues would be incredible on one of his paintings.

This is amazing!! I'd like to see a pregnant woman in Ben's unique style. There's not enough art out there that embraces the pregnant form in all its beautiful (and ugly) glory. @MyMillsBaby

I would like to see what you could come up with regarding transracial adoption. ;)
I would like to see and understand exacly what the painter was thinking of when he/she painted that work of art. love looking at a painting and "feeling" (at least I believe I "feel") what the artist wanted to transmit... does that make sense... it does to me! ha! xx
You guys are so talented, amazing.
