This is a long week full of exciting little moments! On Sunday we went to a field to learn how to... fly fish! Ben's dad has many-many years of experience and he offered to teach me and even take me fishing some time! I'm really excited and so far it was fun in the field.
On Monday we went on the first picnic of 2013! After work we quickly ran home and made a lettuce-strawberry-pastrami salad, and walked to a park. It was a beautiful evening, the sun light was golden and we heard seagulls screaming. I can't wait for it to get really warm, I love having meals in the fresh air.
Tuesday was a busy day at work, but the weather was super nice, we took a few cameras and went on a walk in the evening. The town was quiet and empty, we were the only people walking the streets, stopping often to take pictures of the buildings and trees. It was so nice and refreshing!
Wednesday was my birthday! We woke up before 6 a.m. to go to a workout class. Ben gave me his birthday presents and I kind of wished I could just stay home and enjoy them. But I'm glad we went to the class, it was great and I especially loved the moment of the sunrise. I was proud of actually doing something before the sun came up. We grabbed coffee (and I got lemon cake as well) and headed to work. My colleagues brought me an apple pie and sang "Happy Birthday." It was very cute -- in Russia we don't sing for birthdays so it was my first time "officially" getting sung to on my birthday.
After work we met with Ben's parents and went across the big lake to a sushi bar. The dinner was wonderful. I took some photos which I'll edit and post later.. I guess then I'll tell you more about my birthday and the gifts, too :-) Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes, it was awesome to get your emails/tweets and comments!
